What is an Otherdeed?

An Otherdeed is a unique and valuable digital asset on the Otherside Metaverse platform. Each Otherdeed represents a virtual land plot that can be owned and utilized by its owner. Otherdeeds are represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Ethereum blockchain, meaning each one is unique and cannot be replicated.

Currently there are two distinct NFT collections associated with your Otherdeed: the original "Otherdeed by Otherside" and the newer "Otherdeed Expanded". The Otherdeed by Otherside collection, being the older of the two, might warrant consideration for burning in order to qualify for upcoming activations. You may notice the older collection commands a higher floor price, which may seem counterintuitive. However, Ownership of these original NFTs still carries the opportunity to claim your Vessel NFT, thus enhancing their market value.

In this section, you can find detailed descriptions and statistics of the various traits that make up your Otherdeed, giving you a better understanding of its value and potential use cases.

Sediment

The Otherside Metaverse platform is built on five distinct types of land sediments: Biogenic Swamp, Chemical Goo, Rainbow Atmos, Cosmic Dream, and Infinite Expanse. Each of these sediments is available in three different tiers, which offer varying levels of rarity and value.

The Biogenic Swamp and Chemical Goo plots, in particular, were initially distributed as free rewards to holders of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (Biogenic Swamp) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (Chemical Goo) NFT collections, making them highly sought-after among collectors. These sediments are unique and provide different features and benefits for the holders.

Environment

The Otherside Metaverse features 8 distinct categories of environments, each with 4 sub-environments. The exception to this is the "Chaos" environment, which only has one sub-environment with the same name. Each sub-environment is available in 5 different tiers, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

The effects of these different tiers are currently unknown, but it can be inferred that higher levels result in more developed and visually striking plots. It's important to note that each environment and sub-environment have unique characteristics that can provide different benefits and opportunities for the owner.

Resource

Each Otherdeed can contain up to four different resources, located in the north, south, west, and east regions of the plot. Each resource is assigned a specific tier, with one being the lowest and three being the highest. These resources can be harvested and used or sold by the owner.

In total, there are 74 different resources, divided into four categories - Anima (Research), Ore (Metal), Shard (Stone), and Root (Wood). It's important to note that Anima and Ore resources are specific to certain environments, meaning for each environment there is one resource available for each category. This means that certain otherdeeds may have more valuable resources than others depending on the environment and resource categories they hold.

Artifact

Each Otherdeed has the potential to contain an artifact, which are unique digital items that can have special abilities or characteristics. Some artifacts can be crafted, while others cannot. In total, there are 74 different artifacts in the Otherside Metaverse, 9 of which are considered unique.

These artifacts are known to hold secrets and special powers, however, at this time it is not yet clear what their specific abilities are or how they can be utilized. As the Otherside Metaverse continues to evolve, more information about these artifacts and their uses may become available to players.
