Governance

Unification of Spend

As the utility token of the ecosystem, ApeCoin provides a unified and open form of currency for all participants, eliminating the need for centralized intermediaries.

Access

ApeCoin grants exclusive access to certain elements within the ecosystem, including unique games, merchandise, events, and services that are not otherwise accessible.

The Apecoin Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) structure was established via AIP-1 by the Cartan Group LLC. The primary role of this DAO is to oversee the Apecoin token, utilizing their impressive treasury of 470,000,000 Ape Coins to fund various projects.
At present, the Apecoin DAO is built upon four core components: the Ape Foundation, the Special Council, Working Groups, and the DAO Members themselves.
Ape Foundation
Cost: $75,000 per month
Functioning as the DAO's administrator, the Apecoin Foundation, based in the Cayman Islands, carries out a multitude of essential tasks. It assures legal and regulatory adherence, oversees the Foundation's financial management, supervises legal processes, and manages daily operations. Special Council
Cost: $104,165 per month
The Special Council functions as the governing entity of the DAO. Their primary responsibility is to oversee the administration of DAO proposals, while simultaneously upholding the community's shared vision and objectives.
Working Groups
Cost: $36,000 per month
Working groups in the ApeCoin DAO context are autonomous teams tasked with specific organizational roles to enhance community participation, decentralization, and operational efficiency.
In addition to the Governance Working Group, other charters include the Treasury Working Group, tasked with sustaining operations and managing DAO's assets; the Metaverse Working Group, promoting metaverse-related endeavors; and the Marketing and Communications Working Group, focusing on brand strategy, marketing, and global communication efforts. The ApeCoin DAO Discourse Facilitation Team manages the governance process, facilitates community discourse, enforces rules, and promotes positive engagement.
